Main responsibilities

Reporting to the production coordinator and working closely with the research and development department, the candidate will program and machine on a numerical control machine. He/she participates in the continuous improvement of machining methods in the metal workshop and participates in the manufacturing of prototypes.

Job description

– Operate a 3-axis CNC milling machine:
– Read blueprints and conversational programming.
– Prepare and handle the parts to be machined.
– Maintain the machining center.
– Suggest tooling required for machining projects.
– Train and provide technical support to other team members.
– Perform manual machining (drill press, saw bench, sander, router, pneumatic tapper).
– Use software: VCarve Pro and MasterCAM.
– Suggest and develop new machining methods to facilitate and accelerate the execution.
– Install crimp inserts (PEM) using a PEMSERTER Series 4 press.
– Deburr and clean (degrease) machined parts.

– Maintain a clean and orderly shop.
– In the event of downtime, the candidate may be required to assist in another department. Specific training for the tasks required will be provided as needed.
– Share knowledge and work methods with peers within the metal shop.
– Facilitate the versatility of the metal shop as it relates to the machining center. (Facilitate setup time and allow for solution methods to simplify the operation of the machine center)
– Maintains a harmonious work environment within his/her department and with personnel from other departments.
– Applies the human resources management policies found in the company’s Employee Manual.
– Performs all other related tasks.

Required qualifications

– DEP in machining or precision sheet metal or ASP in numerical control or mechanical engineering or any other program deemed related
– Proficiency in AutoCad – an asset
– Spoken and written French and English
– 3-5 years experience
