Main responsibilities

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing for the entire company. He/she is always looking for ways to reduce costs and increase the quality of the parts required, while respecting the established schedules and standards. He/she works in conjunction with the sales, engineering and production departments to prioritize work to meet deadlines. He/she will also negotiate and coordinate the local and international import of all inbound shipments by small package, air or ocean freight. Theatrixx stands out from the competition by its speed of execution and delivery times. Purchasing therefore plays a crucial and important role.

Job descriptions

– Negotiates and manages agreements with suppliers according to the established purchasing policy.

– Requests and follows up on bids.

– Negotiates prices, delivery terms and places orders with suppliers.

– Receives lists of materials to be purchased, prepares and places orders for inventory, research and development, consumables and office and maintenance supplies.

– Is able to find innovative and creative solutions for tight or stressful deadlines.

– Conducts visits to our subcontractors and/or suppliers as needed.

– Research new suppliers.

– Requests transportation quotes for imported goods and coordinates pick-ups of imported goods with suppliers and carriers.

– Participates in inventory taking.

– Collaborates in maintaining a harmonious work climate within the department and with the personnel of other departments.

Required qualifications

– DEC in administration or relevant experience in purchasing.
– 2 to 5 years experience in the manufacturing field with electronic, electrical and mechanical products.
– Knowledge of the arts and performing arts (asset).
– Experience with international logistics.
– Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
– Strong communication skills. Spoken and written French and English.
– Computer proficiency in basic software and ERP (asset)
